About

I’m Apurva. 👋

I’m driven by a deep curiosity for technology and a love for building things.

Professionally, I started as an intern at Intel, and worked on the networking layer and hardware at Riverbed. Later, at Apple, I was the DRI for Time Accuracy on the very first Apple Watch, and worked across CoreMotion, CoreLocation, and CoreTime.

Today, I like to experiment with new technologies (including hardware like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32). The apps I build usually start because I hit an interesting obstacle during an experiment, or because I simply needed a tool for the real world (like Canopy). ⚡️

The Real World

When I’m not at a keyboard, I’m usually outside:

  • 🏔️ Mountains: Summited Illimani, Cotopaxi, Huayna Potosí, Chachani, Pequeño Alpamayo, Yanapaccha, and Ulta Chico. Trekked Salkantay (Peru), the Lost City (Colombia), and Mestia to Ushguli (Georgia).
  • 🪂 Air: P4 paragliding license. Flown in Annecy, Bassano, and the Wilderness. Currently pushing to log more airtime.
  • 🏂 Snow: Snowboarded seasons across Tahoe, Salt Lake City, and Zermatt.
  • 🌍 Dirt: Solo bikepacked the Pacific Coast from Astoria to San Francisco. Road-tripped from the Bay Area to Key West and back. Backpacked 65+ countries.
  • 🎾 Current: Learned to play Padel in Bali. Still learning the ropes when I get a chance.
